Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA

My Internship at the Mental Health Association of NWPA was a time of growth and personal development

In the summer of 2015 I started my internship at the MHA. At the time I was a senior attending Liberty University Online. My internship was the last class that I needed to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. This was a wonderful way to finish one’s schooling; and interning at the MHA made it all the more enjoyable.

My internship at the MHA of NWPA was a wonderful and delightful experience that helped me grow. Prior to my internship, I had no previous experience working with mental health consumers. During this time I learned a lot about mental health. One of great blessings that came forth was an appreciation for a population that often gets minimalized in society. I was able to develop an admiration for individuals who have a mental health diagnosis; for they are precious souls that need to be loved, heard, and helped. Through my internship my LORD fostered a deeper love for my neighbors; one that will perpetuate through all my future relationships. There is no measure, nor can one accurately quantify the personal growth that occurred during my time at the MHA.

Sincerely,

Brian Nowacinski
