A poem written by Jeremy Berquist
It's colder now, so dark
The sky itself seeks rest.
What stars there are have gone
To die in empty beds.
A nothingness is all.
The light shines when it can
In blackness, and in day
Is blinded by the sun.
But here is only night.
The spots there in the sky
Have faded, leaving me
Without a useful guide.
First aimless, then alone
With nothing to compare
The times I've had myself
With those that we have shared.
At least the night has day,
And stars their canvas, too.
In blackness there is loss.
I'm empty without you.
