Long Description of 'Owl'

Creations Accessible Art Gallery at the Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA

A beautiful snowy owl looks directly at the viewer with its huge light yellow eyes. Its head is adorned by feathers of subtle gray and white.

Deep gray wings rest at its side and reach down to its claws which are wrapped around a tree branch of medium brown.

A single yellow-green leaf hangs off the branch.

This picture provides a peaceful, calm image of a beautiful bird with snowy coloring.

‘Owl’ is a watercolor painted by S. Summers during the Art Class taught by Daniel Toney at the Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA.

The Art Class is lead by Portrait Artist, Daniel Toney. The session S. Summers attended was held during 2004, on the premises of the Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA, 1101 Peach Street, Erie, PA. The objects were painted using ordinary props. The Art Class was highlighted by ‘Art Night’.

'Art Night' was organized jointly by Daniel Toney, Portrait Artist, and Shawn Tubbs. Shawn was then an intern completing graduate studies in 'Art Therapy' and is now in private practice.

The classroom with props can be seen here.
