A flowerpot of tan, burnt sienna, and muddy brown sits in the center of the picture. Golden, hay-colored stems poke out from the top of the pot as they reach out to the sun and catch its light.
The tops of the stems are graced by flowers of deep brown. This picture provides a bright glimpse of a flowerpot in the sun.
‘Flower bowl’ is a watercolor painted by Gail Blake during the Art Class taught by Daniel Toney at the Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA.
The Art Class is lead by Portrait Artist, Daniel Toney. The session Gail attended was held during 2004, on the premises of the Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA, 1101 Peach Street, Erie, PA. The objects were painted using ordinary props. The Art Class was highlighted by ‘Art Night’.
'Art Night' was organized jointly by Daniel Toney, Portrait Artist, and Shawn Tubbs. Shawn was then an intern completing graduate studies in 'Art Therapy' and is now in private practice.
The classroom with props can be seen here.
