The Upper Room of Erie
The Upper Room of Erie is located at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, South Entrance, 1024 Peach Street, Erie, Pa. We are a 501c3 non profit registered with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Upper Room is a faith-based ministry which provides a safe and welcoming place for Erie's poor and homeless year around. Its volunteer staff members offer assistance, information, and fellowship however they can individually and collectively in an atmosphere of hospitality and acceptance.
We offer our guests a place of modest comfort, to spend as much time as they wish and serve coffee and occasional donated snacks. Regular Sunday meals are provided by cooperating churches and schools. The Catholic Diocese of Erie provides a weekday breakfast.
We also provide the comfort of a bathroom, access to showers thru the Downtown YMCA, a telephone, mail delivery and a daily newspaper.
Upper Room Governance
As a tax exempt, non-profit organization, the Upper Room of Erie, Inc., is governed by a board of directors. The board is comprised of volunteer staff members and also concerned citizens from the Erie area, who offer their expertise in planning and development.
