at the Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA
Thanks to the walkers and walk donors for the annual Walk for a Healthy Community event sponsored by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the MHA and 19 other human service organizations have additional funds to serve the needs of worthy causes in our community. MHA had over 40 walkers attend the June 14th event on our behalf, raising over $2,000 for our general fund. These dollars help support special events such as the annual MHA picnic, attendance at sporting events, supplies for the Consumer Center, and recognition materials for all our volunteers. If you walked on behalf of the MHA or helped sponsor a walker, we thank you and hope you will join us next year. Not only do we appreciate the funds that are raised, but we also appreciate your support of self-help and peer based programs that are so important to the process of recovery from mental health/mental illness issues. There is no dollar amount that can measure that kind of meaningful contribution.
