MHA will resume the monthly Professional Development offerings

Hello Certified Peer Specialists;

The Peer Support Initiative Sub Committee and MHA are interested in resuming some of the peer support activities that were offered in the past. We are pleased that Edna Lingenfelter has taken the initiative to continue the monthly Meal & Support offering on the 3Rd Wed. of the month at 6 PM. I hope many of you will take advantage of this opportunity. We now want to resume the monthly Professional Development offerings to assist you in meeting your CEU requirements. To get this off the ground, please email me with any topic ideas that would interest you and enhance your role as a peer specialist. We would plan to offer the Professional Development offerings noon - 1 on the 2nd Wed. of the month at MHA starting with Dec. 12.

We are also interested in gathering a list of CPSs who would be available to be speakers in the community to talk about CPS and peer support . Let me know if you would want to participate in this speakers bureau. Examples of possible speaking venues: service clubs, high school or college classes, churches, agency staff meetings.

I hope to hear from many of you. As we continue to promote Peer Support as a valuable service to consumers, you are the best evidence of its viability and we want to help and support you as you pursue this career choice and your recovery.
