Architecture

The Mental Health Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania owns this 30,000 square foot brick building located in the heart of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. The building was constructed 20 years ago. The first floor was renovated in 2000 and meets accessibility standards. It contains numerous office and support areas, as well as a worship room, a classroom with a computer lab and library, two activity rooms, a boardroom with audio/video equipment, and a large Center area containing billiard and ping-pong tables, board games, video games, TV lounge, etc. Additionally, the Cafe maintained by the members, is available for lite food and beverages.

Improvements to our building security

Improvements to our building and grounds enhance the security of the visitors, members and staff. Thanks to funding by the Erie County Office of Mental Health/Mental Retardation, we have been able to install new entrance doors at all areas of the building. The new doors provide for easy access to all visitors with their increased width and enhanced electronic openers.

The exterior lighting has been upgraded to illuminate all of the area during hours of darkness. The improved lighting will afford those using our facility greater comfort, safety and security. Views of the new lighting areas follow
